“Be still and know that I am God …” (Psalm 46:10).

To every anxious soul, God is saying” ‘Be still”; and there is a reason why He’s saying that to you. Your activity, when born out of anxiety actually hinders Him from showing Himself strong on your behalf. Wherever God leads you, go without running ahead of Him in the energy of the flesh. Passiveness or laziness is equally not permitted in the life of a child of God.

Submit to the Lord, slow down and confirm that you have a sense of peace as regards the ideas you believe He’s given you (James 4:7). Learn also to trust Him without always demanding to know what He is going to do, when He’s going to do it, and how He’s going to carry it out.

Jesus said, “I am the vine, and you are the branches” (John 15:5). Until you embrace those words you will be trying to do those things that only God can do like promoting your own ego, solving your own problems and answering your own prayers. You may even engage in covering up for Him because you think He’s not doing it fast enough, or in the manner it should occur. Get connected to Him because there is a limit the arm of flesh can take you.
