But by the grace of God I am what I am … (I Cor 15:10)

Grace is an unmerited favour of God towards the human race. Nothing on this earth can compensate for it; rather it is a gift freely given by the divine God. Though freely offered, unfortunately many disregard it and do so to their own detriment. Grace is slightly different from pardon because of the personality involved.

If you are pardoned by a Judge of a lower court, depending on the jurisdiction, a higher Judge can overturn the lower court judgement thereby reversing your freedom. Grace can only come from the Almighty God and when it is bestowed on you, no mortal being can revoke it except yourself.

Grace can be abused and desecrated if not guided with humility and daily dependence on the Giver (Phil 2:12). An attempt to disconnect from Him will expose you to dryness and torment from the tormentors. The fact that you operated under it yesterday does not permit you to disconnect from it today; otherwise you will be on your own – remember Demas (II Tim 4:10). Watch out for praise singers – remember King Herod (Acts 12:23). You need to remind yourself on regular basis that there are multitudes who are better than you; but God has given you a window of opportunity and escape which sincerely, you do not deserve.

Beloved, constantly fuel your level of Grace by a lifestyle of holiness, worship and praise of His name and be an addicted soul winner. For every achievement in life, make it your duty to primarily tie it to God because without Him you can do nothing (John 15:5).

Grace is God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.
