“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…” (Isaiah 40:31).
Prophet Isaiah knew fully well the the efficacy of the infallible Word of God, so he said in Isaiah 40:29-31 that even the strength of young men has the tendency to fail, but when God’s factor is engaged, the tide can turn in favour of an individual who waits on God.
Imagine an eagle on the ground in company of other birds! The air space at the top is its habitat. While on the ground, it is vulnerable to attacks by predators like snakes, but while in the air, its altitude determines the course of its actions and achievements, this can equally be applicable to you..
Waiting on the Lord will require you to tune your heart to Him. This is a big task especially in a world of information overload most of which can be categorized as junks with the main aim to pollute the heart. But you must make deliberate attempt to tune your heart to God through meditating on His Words. When you do so, you will be refreshed and your soul will be restored (Psalm 23:1-3).
Another benefit of waiting on God is that it will help your decision to surrender to His will. Because you know His voice and hear from Him, it will be less challenging to obey Him.
Every other alternative solution to the stress of life as cool as they appear, can only provide temporary relief for you. Learn to save your hard-earned money and resources by meditating on the Word and waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31), so that you can receive strength for the challenges around you.
