The moment you become born again, Satan has declared war on you and it’s either you conquer or be conquered. If you approach the battles of life with carnal weapons, you have failed even before the commencement of the war (II Cor 10:4). Our arch enemy the devil is too skilful in all the techniques of the war; but it will take employing the help of the Lord Jesus Christ for you to triumph over the devil (Rev 12:11). In this week’s piece, believers should watch the following arears as we engage in this war:
-Voracious attacks from the world. Friends, work colleagues, business associates will suddenly pick fights with you because of your faith. You will face moments when you’ll feel like you don’t belong here. Truly you don’t belong; because friendship with the world is enmity with the Lord (James 4:4).
-The second thing to watch for is your flesh. Unfortunately, it is the closest enemy. Its mission is: ‘all about me’, and unfortunately it cannot be saved (John 3:6). But you can succeed over the flesh by making a choice of which side you belong to (Joshua 24:15), cut the supply line to the flesh by blowing the bridge of connection, and by maintaining regular communication with your base command (Eph 6:18).
-Finally, never you trivialise or exaggerate Satan’s power. When you understand his ways as well as your weapons, you are on your way to handle his attacks. Always remind yourself that he has been defeated by Jesus Christ over 2,000 years ago (Col 2:15); that God’s Spirit in you is greater than the devil who is in the world (I John 4:4) and by exercising your dominion authority over Satan as contained in Luke 10:19.
