“If ye now these things, happy are ye if ye do them” (John 13:17)

How big in life you are is a function of your knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Your contacts determine your altitude. If you don’t know your worth, you will be made worthless. You need to be connected to the right source (Jesus Christ) before the devil will leave you alone. When you connect with Him, you’ll be operating from the position of completed work on Calvary. You’ve not be called to defeat Satan, Jesus already did over two thousand years ago; rather you’ve been empowered to enforce his defeat (Col 2:15).

At the end of World War 11, the encounter between General McArthur and the Supreme Commander of the Japanese forces is a good lesson for every Christian – he (McArthur) stripped the glittering medals from his chest, took the sword from his hand, declared the war over and enforced the terms of surrender. That is what Jesus did for all Christians at the cross (Col 2:15; Matt 28:18-19; Phil 2:9-11).

Any claim to authority is as good as the power that backs it up. For Christians, this power is in the name of Jesus Christ. Whether in heaven, on earth or in hell: ‘every knee should bow and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord’. An instruction is enforced based on the fact that it’s backed up by the law of the land. Your instruments of victory are the name of Jesus Christ, His blood and sword of the Spirit (Rev 12:11; Eph 6:17).

All that you need to live a daily life of victory has been given to you by the Lord Jesus Christ, so go out and use them (John 5:39).
