“……let thine eyelids look straight before thee” (Proverbs 4:25)
At the backdrop of every success story you’ll find sacrifices made to fulfil a set out dream. Our world is littered with quantum achievements of great and determined individuals from all parts of human endeavours. However there is one common currency among all these individuals and that is vision pursuit.
There’s this story of a young boy who loved watching older men play the game of draughts. One day one of them invited him to play. At first it looked like the lad is going to win as he captured one, two draughts of the older man. But suddenly, the older man took one draught and hopped across the board yelling “King me!” and the rest was story as he wiped off the board. This story tell of the power of long-range vision, because nobody minds losing a few draughts as long as they’re headed for a king territory!
Abraham and his wife (Sarah) saw the invisible in reality even before the physical manifestation (Heb 11:11-12). A God-given vision will keep you pumping even when everything is against you (Gen 37 – 41). The Scripture says, ‘let your eyes look straight ahead……ponder the path of your feet….do not turn to the right or the left… (Prov 4:25-27). Therefore, the question is, ‘what do you see in your future?’
You will never seize it until you see it! So write the vision down, the reason you want to accomplish it as well as the price tags (Hab 2:2). When you do that, you’ll be properly equipped for much of what comes your way. Always remember that the difference between winners and losers is in how they view failure – losers see failure; winners see opportunities!
