SEEK GOD & PROSPER “—–and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper” (II Chron 26:5).
It is time to seek God and not material things. If you’re in the group of people who seek for position or power by all means, know that those who have held on to what you are seeking for have discovered that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Bible is full of examples of people who started very well but derailed and finished poorly because of covetousness and greed. Achan decided to help himself with accursed things (Joshua 7) and he died a shameful death, Gehazi followed after Naaman’s garments and silver (II Kings 5:20-27) and he ended a leper while Judas Iscariot lost it all because of thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:15).
Many people started well but while in position of authority, became or allowed their subordinates to corrupt them and ended regrettably. Those who are shouting ‘hosanna’ while you were in power will still be around long after you have gone to shout ’nail him’. This is why you must make God your only reward.
Psalm 37:5 speaks of God’s faithfulness to His children and their generations. Likewise Psalm 37:25 buttressed the same fact that God will not allow His own to suffer. The major reason why many people run after prosperity so hard is because of the fear of what might happen to them when they are not in active service and what the future holds for their families. Are you also caught up in such web of fear? Take a pill daily of Psalm 37:25 and II Chronicles 26:5; your today and future will be secured. Seek Him today and He will take care of your fears.
