“………Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” (I Corinthians 10:12)

The moment you surrender your life to Jesus Christ you’re at war with the devil and his agents. You’ve got to stand up against all his wiles and keeping standing onward is not inevitable but possible. You need to be adequately armed by the Lord and be full of faith to disarm the assaults of Satan (Eph 6: 11-13). War is a casualty-laden business, therefore you must take it as the evil one does (I Peter 5:8) – you need to be alert, but not alarmed (Ps 91:7).

In a battle, you expect casualties and valiant, but the difference is -those who stand and win have made the Lord their dwelling place (Ps 91:9), whereas the victims make flesh their strength (Jeremiah 17:5). Falling at times isn’t always preventable, but it’s surmountable. It’s not only the weak and immature who fall. The devil’s trick includes bringing down the righteous, the wicked, the most vulnerable and the least vulnerable.

“… a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again” (Prov 24:16), what do you think will be the lot of everyone else who is without Jesus? No one is guaranteed immunity from attack in war; but safety is of the Lord (Ps 37:23-24). The message is: “don’t exert your thought on the unable, or disabled, but on Christ the Enabler!” for He is more than able to keep you standing to the end of your race.
