“And what I say unto you I say unto all, watch”(Mk 13:37)

To watch is to be alert and prepared for an unexpected, sudden great event or visit. In Christian perspective, the second coming of our Lord Jesus is not fiction but a reality. He promised it many years ago (John 14:1-3) and because we know that whatever He promise He will do, it is therefore sure that He will come back to this world again.

He (Jesus) gave some hints to help our preparation as regards His second coming. Such as earthquakes of unimaginable proportion, wars and rumours of wars, famines, love of many waxing cold, betrayals, hatred and persecutions that will be on the increase (Matthew 24:1 – 12).

Doors are closing fast against the spread of the gospel while unrighteous acts are been celebrated in grandeur in many nations. Many Church pulpits today are occupied by people preaching heresies and who know little about this coming great event. Those standing (the remnants) should sincerely examine themselves (I Cor 10:12). Be ready to preach the gospel, live a life of holiness in humility, speaking the truth in love. Prayerfully ask God to give you a heart that forgives easily and a true spirit of love expressed to all men.

If a landlord will keep vigil to protect his household members against night robbers, and if you are prepared to pay a premium to secure your valuables, nothing should be spared to guarantee your eligibility to God’s kingdom. Therefore watch and pray for the coming of the Lord is nearer now than you ever imagined.
