“And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them…’ (Matthew 14:25).
The fourth watch is always a critical period in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the hour between 3 am and 6 am. The Israelites enjoyed divine parting of the Red Sea at such period (Exodus 14:21). It was during the middle watch of the night that Gideon defeated the Midianites (Judges 7:19-24). Jesus rose from the dead before daybreak (Matthew 28:1).
Matthew says: ‘In the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him, they were amazed and Jesus spoke, take courage, it is I; do not be afraid’ (Matthew 14: 25-27). Brethren, when you encounter challenging issues; always be encouraged that:
-Christ will come through for you when the storm is at its worst and all hope of recovery is gone. He does so, so that man will not take glory in the eventual miracle. He dictates the timetable for our breakthroughs and He’s never late!
-Most often the solution to your need is right beside you, but you don’t recognise it until God reveals it to you
In Luke 5:1-3, Jesus picked Peter’s boat out of others available and used it to win many souls. In that moment, it would have been tempting for Peter to feel important thinking his boat is really indispensable to the accomplishment of the Master’s assignment. God does not need anything achieved with human/carnal might or intention; therefore, be humble and stay calm for God is on top of the situation and He will come through for you.
