‘Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat… ’ (Matt 6:25).
Anxieties, worries, cares e.t.c and there is no end to this dragon head that keeps evading human life without permission. However, the devastating effects are always there and that is why the Scriptures caution that: ‘the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust for other things, will choke out the life of God in us’ (Matthew 13:22).
This invasion come in various forms. If the frontline attack is not about clothes and food, it may be about money or the lack of it; or friends or the lack of friends, or certain difficult and challenging circumstances. Sometimes they come in like flood or steady, consistent, hardened attack; unless we allow the Spirit of God to raise up the banner against it.
The Lord gave, and He’s giving the same antidote to these attacks that: ‘…do not worry about your life, but be careful of your relationship with Him’ (Matthew 6: 25-34). But our common sense keep retorting: ‘I must consider how I am going to live, eat, and drink’. But our Master is saying we must not overcrowd the mind with these stuffs to the extent that they become our primary concern in life. Always put your relationship with God first, for sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
When worries, anxieties and cares come your way, roll it all to Jesus and start praising the One who calmed the stormy sea and still possesses the capacity to make way in the wilderness of life.
