‘Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?’ (Matthew 6:27).
Worry is a squatter that must be issued with a notice of eviction in your life. It is like a house lying empty long enough for anyone to move in and occupy. It roams around looking for an empty mind to occupy. The question is: ‘has worry taken up residence in your mind today?’ Is it there when you wake up in the morning and go to bed at night? When you worry about absolutely anything, even things that you can naturally do become tough and difficult because you’re no longer sure of your ability.
As a child of God, you have the authority to serve worry a notice of eviction and it must obey. Your ignorance of this truth is the only thing that legitimize its stay in your heart. The antidote to worry is: occupy your mind with the promises of God found in His Words. Worry will suddenly see a ‘no vacancy’ sign and move on.
Paul the Apostle wrote in II Cor 10:3-5 that we do not war against physical enemies but spiritual; but our weapons are not physical but spiritual and they are mighty enough to pull down every stronghold and all things that exalt itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Know your weapons, keep them sharpened and ready to be used when required will win the day for you.
When you trust God with your heart and speak out His Words in times of your worries, it shall destroy them.
