“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12)

There is a line of sequence of events preceding Peter’s denial of Jesus Christ as recorded in all the gospels. First, the Saviour warned him that the devil was after him but interestingly, He has prayed for him (Luke 22:31-32). Thereafter when the authority of His time came to effect the arrest of Jesus Christ, Peter followed at a distance (Lk 22:54). He had grown distant from Christ. No wonder he denied Him thrice before the cock crowed.

Summarily this is how it works: (a) in your unprepared moment, the enemy comes (I Peter 5:8).
(b) You allow work and all manner of pressures to make you forget that your primary commitment must always be to your Maker.
(c) You suddenly find yourself defeated.

Passion is the unseen yet visible drive and strength that pushes you accomplish unbelievable things. The main purpose Satan is after you is because He knows that you’re unstoppable when you are in God’s purpose and will; but it’s the zeal and enthusiasm in serving God that can empower you to deflate Satan’s attack.

The reason why Christ’s crucifixion has been referred to “The Passion” can be found in Heb 12:2 “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”. Beloved, don’t lose your passion for God.
