“And the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time” (Jonah 3:1).
Unfortunately huge number of human beings spend too much of their life in the junkyard of regrets. While it is natural to feel disheartened about near success, failure and had I known experiences, it is needful to move on with your life at a stage. By replaying those incidences back over and over again cannot rewind the hand of the clock. The only thing you can control is what you do in the present. Friends, the more you replay yesterday, the further you get from today’s opportunities, the tougher the road back becomes also.
Opportunities never look as good coming as they do going and they wait for no one; so you need to be attentive and grab them. They come in many forms, and they can come from any direction. But one thing is certain – they can be seen and obtained only in the present. Beloved, whatever has happened in your life has occurred and since you cannot press the undo button on those issues no matter how hard you try, you therefore need to wipe the slate clean and move on to the next chapter of your life.
Jonah messed up and went to the bottom of the sea for his disobedience, but that was not the end of his life. He prayed in the belly of the fish and the Lord commanded the fish to vomit him onto dry land. He was given a second chance to explore his abandoned assignment and he excelled in it, though reluctantly (Jonah 2: 1-2; 3:1-5). Our God is a God of many chances until you have exhausted your opportunities (Lam 3:23).
Today is a gift and that is why it is called the present. Stop swimming in the memory of the past, start exploring the vast opportunities available for you today.
