“In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).

Peter spoke to the lame man using a name that was greater and bigger than his problem – the name of Jesus. He did that simply because He’s the One qualified to heal us in the areas where we hurt most. However, Peter went a step further by reaching down, taking the man’s hand and lifting him up. When he did, the Bible says, ‘his feet and ankles became strong. He jumped up (Acts 3:7-8). Peter just lent him a helping hand to get to his feet and note that he was not the healer.

Today, you are surrounded by people who need help to get back up spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. So what are you going to do in this matter? Your hand extended in compassion and faith can lift them up. Do you know that they don’t need you to spend the rest of your life supporting them? They just need a hand up – plus an introduction to the One who is able, willing and waiting to meet their need.

What’s in His name? The answer is: everything! At the name of Jesus, hell trembles, habits break, sickness retreats and life-long problems are solved (Philippians 2:10-11). Leave the how, when and where to Him; just look to Jesus. He won’t disappoint you.
